Hello.
Well I think my question is quite short and simple:
Is it possible to achieve animated gui styles with cegui (i.e. blinking lights in a window titlebar)? Do we need a create a custom skinning system, can we use Falagard or will it be implemented i near future?
thanks in advance
Dennis

Hi
Animated imagery is not currently supported directly by the library, but you'll be happy to hear that this feature is indeed planned, and should be one of the key features of the next release.

Hi,
Yeah i had this problem as well as my project leader wanted animated buttons on mouse over. The way i found to get round it was creating an imageset for the animation and cycling through the frames after a time delay, while constantly resetting the image. Yes i know it sounds very hacky but i'll hopefully be refining it very soon

I am glad to hear this. Maybe I will use the "hack" described by Rellik until the feature is implemented.

I've begun designing my GUI "look" and wondered about animations. This thread mentions cycling through images, which is what movies basically are, showing one image after the next.
Another approach is presented in
Ogre's Wikied CEGUI Build Dialog which uses the Render To Texture approach; using Ogre to render a .mesh to a texture which is then used as the image for a button.
Are there other possibilities?
