multiline editbox forces newline?

multiline editbox forces newline?

Why does the multiline editbox append a newline? Is there anyway around this? I have a requirement in my project that this not be the case.

I can't recall all the details, but IIRC it was related to making the formatting code simpler, and work properly. It seems kind of lame-ish in hindsight, though it was a while ago, so there may have been some other, more compelling, reason why I did that :?
