SDL(SMPEG) and CEGUI

Postby tommy6 » Sat Sep 09, 2006 18:25

Hi, this is what i'm trying to do but I keep getting weird results:

I am using a SMPEG manager to display a mpeg video onto my Ogre application. All the manager does is take my mpeg and draw it onto the surface..
At the same time, I want to display static images using CEGUI over top the video. So that the video plays in the background with a GUI in the forground.

So I just went on to do that but it seems that the SDL/SMPEG surface tends to draw on top of my gui. I know this is the case since I made it so that the video is hidden after it is finished or I make a keypress, and after that I can see my CEGUI stuff.

In theory, all I want to do is somehow display the sdl surface behind everything else, but it seems that there is something I'm not understanding about sdl and surface drawing. I'm not even sure if this is the most efficient way to do it, so if anyone can help or if anyone knows a better way to display a video in the background behind CEGUI items, I would appreciate it alot.

I also did a search and found out that theres no video render support in CEGUI so thats why I'm using SMPEG.

thanks in advanced and sorry about my english
