Wecome to the CEED forum!

Greetings!
This is the first post in our new forum dedicated to development and support discussion of the new unified editing tool for CEGUI, which we have named "CEED".
This is being called a 'unified' editor, because the idea is to bring the functions of the existing editors (CELayoutEditor (1 and 2) and CEImagesetEditor) under one roof, along with support for editing the other CEGUI file types as well.
The unified editor is the brainchild of none other than Kulik, who will be - indeed is - leading the way with the development of this tool, and as such all final decisions regarding this tool are down to Kulik, although more than anything we need you guys (yes, even you in the corner!) to come to the fore with ideas and suggestions - and even small patches where appropriate - to make CEED the tool that CEGUI needs and deserves. "WTF?!" you may say, "why don't you guys write it, and we'll use it?". Well, yeah. We will do, and no doubt so will you But the point is that being core CEGUI devs, and devs on the editor puts us in a somewhat tough spot - because it's sometimes hard to see the wood for the trees. We need input of users to ensure that the resulting tool is both powerful and also easy and intuitive to use - so please, please, please get involved with this effort (please!! )
I will link the the original thread from Kulik regarding this new tool: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5318 - though it's likely this will be moved into this forum shortly.
Ok. After begging for the assistance of you all, you're probably wondering where you can get your hands on this?! Currently it's in heavy development, and Kulik intends an initial alpha preview release that shows layout and imageset editing over the next couple of weeks.
Braver souls can see things immediately by compiling current default branch CEGUI code from mercurial with pyCEGUI enabled, and grab the CEED code from the mercurial repo here: http://crayzedsgui.hg.sourceforge.net/h ... dsgui/CEED
Finally, I'd like to mention that after all the discussion of paid for tools, and paid support. It is currently the intention that this tool and support will be FREELY AVAILABLE for all users. So, get involved!
CE.
