Sounds like you are making progress. I'm really looking forward to what you end up with.

Yeah, me too :)

Sounds like, even at this early stage, the editor will be very usable. Looking forward to trying it out :D

Just as promised, a new screenshot :-)

It shows the property dialog at work, including the selection of new Window types + name:

Looking awesome there Mr. scriptkid :D

I assume the window types are collected dynamically, and will automatically pick-up the name changes I'm making?

Very nice work :)

Hehe, thanks :-)

Not (yet). But it's a good suggestion! Didn't even look if that's possible. I certainly will try it. There's probably some iterator around, isn't it? :-)

Yep, to do this you'll need WindowFactoryManager::getIterator() and possibly WindowFactoryManager::getAliasIterator().

Looking good :)

Nice to see the little sizing thingy on one of the widgets.

This is definately going to be an essential tool for all users of the system.

Just realize this was the first screenshot which shows it :-)
It's just drawn with GDI, nothing fancy here.

Below is a link to the first stable (enough) release of the layout editor:

http://www.2dgame-tutorial.com/downloads/CELayoutEditor.zip

It contains a little more than the default .xml files from CE's demo, e.g. i added a font myself. But that doesn't hurt, i guess.

Please read the "releasenotes.txt" file for the known issues. There are probably some more which i forgot to mentione. So just shoot! :-)

I will have about 24 hours from now to put a new package online, should there be some show-stoppers. And then i'm on holidays for two weeks!

PS. I'd like to thank Crazy Eddie for his fast support on the questions i asked him during development!!!

Could you by chance post a release build of the project? It seems to want the VS6.0 debug libraries, which I don't have. Or is there a place where I can get the debug libraries even though I don't use VS6.0?

As per my reply on the Ogre forums... :D

Great work scriptkid :)

I've only had a little play around, but will have a proper look over the weekend. Really, this is the icing on the CEGUI cake, as without some kind of layout editor, any GUI system is a pain to use - so I'm really grateful you've taken the time to do this :)

Anyway, enough about that :) Enjoy your holiday man ;)

Scriptkid -

Great Job! This is going to make life a lot easier. It looks good so far.

Can I request an addition? (I know, I know, I'm an ingrate!) Any chance you can add Default GUI sheet to the list of possible windows to create? I'm one who likes to encapsulate parts of the gui in gui sheets and then when I have to move the gui, I can just move the gui sheet, and not each individual part. I didn't see that as one of the options when choosing a window type.

Please don't see the above request as a criticism, I appreciate the work you've put into this so far, and hope you enjoy your holiday!

Thanks!
